Gulf Stream Yacht Maintenance was started out of our own frustrations dealing with unprofessional, unreliable and unethical marine service companies. We thought we could do better by providing excellent service in combination with high quality work and reliability.
Capt. Mike holds a USCG 100ton OUPV license, is a member of Boat US Pro Captains and the American Professional Captains Drug Consortium. Further, he is a FAA licensed pilot with instrument rating and high performance, complex aircraft endorsements. He is a NAUI certified open water diver. He completed 126 hours of course work towards a Bachelors of Science degree at San Antonio College and Southwest Texas State University.

Owned and operated by Capt. Mike Elliott Howard, he started as a motor yacht delivery captain running and maintaining privately owned vessels between Fort Lauderdale, Miami, the Florida Keys and the Bahamas. Capt. Mike has operated and maintained a 50ft Hatteras, 45ft Riviera, 50ft Ocean, 40ft Tiara, 42ft Meridian and 50ft Sea Ray. He also delivered (under power) and maintained a 45ft St. Francis and a 50ft Eric Lerouge catamaran. He's experienced performing all engine maintenance according to manufactures guidelines on Cummins, Caterpillar, Yanmar and Volvo Penta diesel engines as well as Onan and Kohler generators.
